We see a LOT of cards over here. Thousands of stationery designers trust us to print their creations and we do not take that lightly. We know that each one was lovingly illustrated with a message designed to make someone laugh or feel loved. Some cards make people feel celebrated or validated. And other cards are designed just to let someone know that they matter.
I'm Erin, the VP of Creative Direction at StationeryHQ.com. The first card I ever "sent" was when I was 3 years old, with a drawing of a caterpillar on the front. I gave it to my mom and it's still in my baby book :) And I've been sending cards ever since. I do cards for all the obvious holidays (Galentine's Day is my fav), birthdays, anniversaries and condolences.
But the big stack of constantly rotating cards in my desk drawer were created just for the hell of it. They are funny, motivating and occasionally sweet. I send them to say "I'm glad we're friends" and "I love coming to your house for dinner, thank you for being the person who gathers us." I buy cards whenever I'm out in the wild, knowing that the universe will present me with an opportunity to make someone feel special or laugh out loud.
And when someone sends me a card I feel like I must be doing something right, like choosing the type of friends who send cards.
I'll def be sending cards during Thinking of You Week, but I'll do it the week before and the week after too because the world is a nicer place with cards in it.
